We take seriously the words of the great African-American revolutionary, Frederick Douglass:
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters.
This commitment to struggle is reflected in the wide range of activism that our members are involved in. Currently some of our main areas of focus in Chicago include the following:
- Anti-Racist Organizing
- Education Justice
- Workers Rights and Labor Organizing
- Organizing Against Sexism, Homophobia and Transphobia
- Independent Left Politics in Chicago
- Environmental Justice
