Socialism Conference

Mark your calendars! July 6-9th, 2017 • Hyatt Regency McCormick Place • Chicago.

Every year, the ISO helps to organize the Socialism Conference — a four-day event bringing together hundreds of socialists and radical activists from around the country to take part in discussions about Marxism, history, and the debates and strategies for organizing today.

Every year, the Socialism conference aims to be a place where activists can share lessons from their struggles—from the #BlackLivesMatter movement to the BDS campaign for Palestine, from the fight for LGBT liberation to the movement for environmental justice, and more. The conference regularly has participants on the front lines of struggles all over the world.

With well over 100 meetings, the weekend will feature left-wing authors and thinkers discussing the debates on the left today, as well as meetings on the hidden history of struggles by workers and the oppressed for liberation. Speakers have included Alicia Garza, Glenn Greenwald, Eve Ensler, Amy Goodman, Jeremy Scahill, Tariq Ali, John Carlos, Ali Abunimah, Wallace Shawn, Omar Barghouti, Dave Zirin and many others.

We in Chicago are fortunate that it is held annually in our hometown — it will be a bit more of a hike for comrades coming in from Australia, Greece, Mexico, Venezuela and elsewhere! You won’t want to miss it — register today.
